About

I am Tom Arneberg — husband of one, father of five, and Scoutmaster to hundreds over the past couple of decades. I developed my love of outdoor adventures as a Boy Scout in the 1970s, and when our oldest son turned 11 in 2001, I helped start a Boy Scout troop at our church in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, where all four of our sons achieved the rank of Eagle Scout.

After leading the troop on four backpacking treks to Philmont, a hundred-mile canoe trip and several shorter ones,, and several long bike trips of hundreds of miles each, I started doing some solo expeditions when I turned 60 during the pandemic when everything else was cancelled. I decided to film my adventures for eventual YouTube videos, and figured I’d start a simple blog so that people can follow along if they want.

I may be older and slower now, but I am not done yet!
