This is a new blog for MADBIRD: Madison Bike Ride for Boy Scout Troop 72. Our route leads us through Durand to Wabasha, Minnesota, on the might Mississippi River. Then we follow the river down to Winona and La Crosse, before turning east to the famous Sparta-Elroy Trail. One night at Devil’s Lake and then we roll into Madison.
We kick off MADBIRD with all the Scouts of Troop 72 riding their bikes to Arneberg Acres, home of the Scoutmaster. We traditionally camp out the night before we start biking, to get a chance to tune up the bikes and make sure everyone has all the camping gear they need.
